Shandus Parish, a dedicated parent and community leader, has officially declared her candidacy for the Williamson County Schools Board of Education.
I am honored to be your candidate for Williamson County Schools (WCS) Board of Education, District 9!
A proud Tennessean for life, I've called Franklin home for 7 years and have a deep-rooted commitment to education. As a parent of two children currently in the WCS system (grades 3 and 6), I am personally invested in its success. I am a product of public education myself and believe wholeheartedly in the power of education to transform lives for the better and to be a safe, nurturing environment for all students, regardless of background. As a member of the school board, students and teachers will be my top priority.
Aside from my personal interest in public education, I bring my expertise as a Human Resources professional, which equips me with the skills to build relationships, implement effective organizational strategies and solve complex issues like those that face the school board. This expertise will be particularly helpful in advocacy for teacher and staff compensation, recruitment, and retention strategies. My educational background, with a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Higher Education Administration, reflects my ongoing pursuit of knowledge and understanding in the field of education. Having worked in multiple university environments for almost 10 years prior to transitioning to HR, I bring a unique perspective on student development theory and organizational dynamics.
I am running for school board because I believe every child in Williamson County deserves a high-quality, well-rounded education with opportunities to thrive and grow into individuals who contribute positively to society. My priorities include improving educator recruitment and retention, empowering teachers to have professional autonomy in their classrooms, and fostering a safe, inclusive environment for equitable student support and achievement. You can read more about my platform in the “Issues” section.
Join me in shaping a brighter future for WCS students through informed, sensible leadership. It's not just a campaign; it's a personal commitment to our district's success.
My campaign platform is rooted in data-driven decision-making, aiming to address the specific needs of WCS by
employing evidence-based strategies.
Through collaboration, analysis, and thoughtful decision-making, we
can create a school system that not only meets the highest standards,
but also reflects the values and
aspirations of our community.
Together, let's build a future where our schools stand as
pillars of excellence and inclusivity.
Running a competitive campaign takes resources and is not possible without your generous support.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated!
